The first Fernhills bungalow was built in 1844 as a private residence in the Ooty hill station in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The palace looks like a Swiss chalet. The park of the palace accentuates the alpine aspect of the place with its well-kept gardens, its pines and cedars. There is a church-like indoor badminton court on the grounds. The place was established by Ramoji Rao in 1991. Since then, Ramoji Film City has been a spectacular getaway for Hyderabad residents and tourists from all over the world. Ramoji Film City is home to many hotels, and many of them have been the center of supernatural activity. It is possibly one of the most haunted places in Mussoorie which keeps some serious secrets within its old walls. So in 1911 Lady Garnet Orme, a well-known British spiritualist, was murdered here. Apparently, she was poisoned with strychnine and suffered a slow and painful death. A few years later, his doctor was also murdered in the same way and no one still knows the killer. The mystery remains unsolved, and the lady is believed to be hiding in the halls of the hotel in search of her murderer. A number of guests have reported incidents such as self-closing doors, unknown whispers, and some people also say they saw Lady Orme herself. A thorough investigation followed to find the murderer but the circumstances of death was never known. It is believed that the Ghost of Frances Garnett-Orme was seen several times inside the hotel. Guests who visit Savoy Hotel have also heard disembodied whisper and cry several times during their stay in hotel. Some people believe that the ghost of Frances Garnett is looking for the murderer who poisoned her.
4. Hotel Brij Raj Bhavan, Kota

A palace that once housed Major Charles Burton and is now a heritage hotel is rather infamous for being a haunted property. The story goes that Major Burton was killed here by Indian Sepoys during the 1857 Mutiny. He was locked in one of the upper chambers with his two sons as Sepoys looted the palace. When they surrendered after a five-hour siege, the soldiers killed them all. The British later buried their bodies in the Kota cemetery with full military rights and reclaimed the property which later became the property of the Maharaja of Kota. But in the ’70s, the government renovated it and it became the Brijraj Bhawan Palace Hotel. The property quickly became the talk of the town when people began to say it was haunted by the ghost of Major Charles Burton. Even though his mind doesn’t really hurt anyone, the guards who work here have often heard a man’s voice speaking in English and ordering them not to fall asleep or smoke. And if they do fall asleep on duty, the ghost even slaps them to wake them up. This incident happened with a number of guards. While guests haven’t had much of a problem here, some have complained about experiencing sudden discomfort in parts of the palace hotel.
